Your journey to ‘I do’ starts with finding the perfect dress, and our alterations team, with over 30 years of experience, will ensure that it fits you like a glove! Trust us with your most cherished garment, and we’ll transform it into a masterpiece tailored specifically to you.
We specialize in tailoring bridal, bridesmaids, mothers of the wedding, prom and most other special occasion gowns. At this time, we do not tailor menswear, dress pants, jackets or casual every day wear garments.
Alterations are by appointment only. Appointments are available on Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays. The best way to book an alterations appointment is to call (219) 462-7433.
If you prefer to book online, select appointment openings have been made available. Choose “Alterations – 1st Meeting with the Seamstress” from the dropdown menu on the Appointment page. Alterations appointments booked online will incur a $10 booking fee to hold the space. This fee is not refundable. If you do not see a date and time that will work for you, please give us a call, as many more time slots may be available to book by phone.

Bridal Gown Alterations
We alter both, gowns purchased from Catherine’s Bridal Boutique and bridal gowns purchased from other stores.
TIMING: Bridal gown alterations should begin 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding. Our seamstresses are busy year-round, so book early to secure your spot on our calendar. Rush fees may apply if the gown is needed in less than 6 weeks before the wedding.
FITTINGS: Most brides require two fittings to get the perfect fit. The first fitting is where the seamstress will pin the areas of the gown that need to be altered. At the second fitting, you will try on the gown after the work has been completed and the seamstress will evaluate if any further work is needed. Occasionally a third fitting is required, depending on the extent of the alterations being done. Finally, we will schedule you an appointment to pick up your dress on a convenient day that is closer to your wedding.
PRICE: The average price of alterations for a wedding dress is between $300 and $800. The price will depend on the amount of work required to achieve the perfect fit. The price will depend on many factors, such as fabric type, number of layers, beading and lace details, to name just a few. You will be given a quote for your alterations at your first meeting with the seamstress.
The price of alterations includes steaming the gown before you pick it up so that it is wrinkle free and looking its best on your wedding day!
